Our summer training course in Northern Ireland will provide you with profound knowledge about the biological process of biogas formation, the principles of designing biogas plants, applied technology and safety aspects.

Start up phase & practical measures for monitoring the digestion process, Heating-up and Feeding-start, Testing parameters during operation, Practical devices for plant monitoring (FOS/TAC, pH, gas analysis)
Record keeping, Data collection and daily maintenance, Safety considerations
Case studies – Practical operation of wet & dry fermentation plants with different
Trouble shooting: Practical monitoring of a biogas plant, Start up and shut down operation, In situ process control, Accidification and alcalosis, Inhibition factors, Process failures and safety considerations, Prevention of scums & sedimentation layers, Mixing & agitation effects, Plugged overflow & foaming prevention, gas quality (desulphurisation), residual gas potential
Practical measures for process improvement through additives (Inhibition factors detection, Substrates as process stabilisors, Biological, mineral and chemical additives)
Interactive session - Necessary laboratory tests & practical interpretation of operating modes using examples from practise.
