Medieval Theatre Colloquium
Registration for the fifteenth triennial colloquium of the Société Internationale pour l’étude du Théâtre Médiéval, jointly sponsored by Records of Early English Drama North East, is now open.
Highlights of the conference include:
- Over ten performances of plays from the Anglo-Saxon period to 1642 by international guest companies, professionals, and local groups
- Over 60 papers on themes including: Performing Latin; Archive-based research; Reformation, Recusant and Humanist Drama; Revivals, Reinventions, Inventions; Paratheatrical Performative Tradition / Ritual and Festive Culture
- An exhibition on Plays, Processions and Parchments, featuring manuscripts, costumes, and musical instruments showcasing REED N-E research
- Book stalls, displays by the Early Music Shop, and publishers’ displays
